Summary: Shot by a demon Jimmy is in pain and dying. A certain person becomes aware of this and can't help but come to the scene and try to help Jimmy.
Sequel: A Angel's Child
Castiel was gone and Jimmy was trying to get the demon to let go of his wife…The pain that ripped through him…that bullet wound…It hurt beyond what he’d felt before. When Dean and Bobby had shot and stabbed him, Castiel had shielded him from the pain and healed him too. So this was a painful reminder for Jimmy that castile was not here…could not be as he fell to his knees…

The Trickster blinked at a sudden shock that went through him. He sighed when he realized what it was and instantly knew he had to do something for the injured vessel. The vessel he’d been alerted of… He vanished from where he was, abandoning his prank and he arrived to where the fighting was going on as he knelt down next to Jimmy. He could sense castile nearby, in Jimmy’s daughter and The Trickster gave a soft breath and pulled Jimmy close to him, the human blinking when he saw the Trickster and that he was pulling him close in a hug.
“Shh…” He said softly to Jimmy, aware of the man’s pain as he looked to the fight going on and he pressed a hand to his wound. He got the bullet out with his powers and sent it aside. He saw castile and Dean watching Sam…He also saw the demon possessing Jimmy’s wife attempting to sneak up on them.
The Trickster worked fast and healed the wound hurting Jimmy and could sense the relief flooding through the vessel and The Trickster started to get up but Jimmy grabbed his hand, looking to him with desperate eyes, eyes that wanted answers.
“Who are you?” Jimmy asked and The Trickster smiled at him.
“Those mooks Dean and Sam know me as ‘The Trickster’ but you…you can call me Gabriel.” Gabriel said softly, seeing Sam was working on exorcizing the demon from Jimmy’s wife.
“Gabriel…? You can heal so…you’re an angel…and if you’re an angel you’re..the Archangel Gabriel, aren’t you?” Jimmy asked in a whisper and Gabriel smiled at him, pushing back his hair fondly, realizing just how much he liked this vessel. Castiel had made a good choice picking him first before Claire.
“Guilty,” Gabriel said with a sly smile before he looked up and saw castile starting to come towards them and he saw Castiel stop and look to Gabriel with confusion, he also saw Sam and Dean looking at him with anger and confusion.
“You!” Dean yelled as he started to run at Gabriel who ignored him and looked to Jimmy.
“I will see you in a while. Don’t tell Castiel who I am. I am in hiding from the others of the host…I don’t agree with what they have planned.” He messed up Jimmy’s hair and then sends Dean flying back into Sam before vanishing and leaving Jimmy to beg for Castiel to let his daughter to go, that he wanted to be the one to be the vessel.
He wanted his daughter to live a normal life, not have to see war and violence that Castiel would see and Jimmy himself would rather see it. Gabriel knew this about Jimmy and he knew Castiel wouldn’t be able to argue with that. Gabriel only smiled sadly as he went back to where he had been before. He knew he was going to see Jimmy and the others soon, just how soon he didn’t know and well, he didn’t really want to know.
